How do I set my XP Media Center PC to function as a TiVo or digital video recorder?
I am pretty sure that there is a way to do it, but my OS did not come with instructions (yes, it was legally bought from tiger direct). I have an ATI All-In-Wonder 9800 graphics card with a cable input and I have lots of space hard drive (100gb +). you could throw some light on this?
Have you installed the OS? You will also have an MCE encoder. You can google "MCE Encoder". There is several sources, including Roxio and the main concept. I think that you can download Roxio and try it. Many of ATI AIW cards are not fully compatible with MCE. The video card is part, but the tuner is not. I suggest that you double-check with them to confirm that your card is fully compatible. Setting the TV recording is pretty straightforward.
